ABOUT THE ARTIST
Angie Hipp is the creative force behind the art at Brooks and Bridges. Signing her pieces simply A.Hpp, she blends her career in pastoral counseling with a deep, intuitive love for visual story telling.
THE OFFICE
In the counseling office she works with women, couples, teens and families to address a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, marital conflict, emotional abuse and CPTSD. Angie is a leadership speaker and offers unique workshops such as Emotional Intelligence Tools and Art Expressions, Finding Your Vision. She is based in Tulsa, Ok but travels the country to help people in need or provides online sessions.
THE ART STUDIO
Working primarily in mixed media, Angie builds rich, tactile layers that invite viewers to do more than just look-they invite them to feel. Her canvases are a celebration of nature, animals, adventure and texture. By combining varied materials, she creates dynamic surfaces where organic subjects come to life. Whether capturing the quiet resilience of a creature or the expansive energy of a wild landscape, her work is grounded in a sense of discovery and grounded peace.
THE CONNECTION
Art and healing are deeply intertwined. Just as pastoral counseling offers a bridge through life’s transitions, Angie’s paintings serve as a visual expression of hope, resilience, and the beauty found in the journey. Every textured layer represents the complex, beautiful stories we carry, and every nature-inspired piece reflects the restoration found when we reconnect with God, oursleves and the world around us.
Grounded in faith, Angie loves helping others break free from the chains of the past so they can live more balanced and fulfilling lives. She is married with 3 thriving children. She enjoys spending her time with her family, traveling, hiking and adventure seeking. By living what she teaches, Angie knows first-hand the Peace, Joy and Freedom that is possible and loves helping others clear the path God has laid out for them.
Psalm 139:23-24
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”
MY APPROACH TO PAINTING
My Approach
Every person is unique. That means the starting and ending points of their journey will be different, and the path must be tailored to their individual needs. I like to start by gathering information about what the client believes they want or need to change. What are the goals? What issues seem too daunting? I use a combination of counseling, teaching, and Splankna Therapy to help clients identify, understand, and manage their unique needs.
counseling Tools
You will be equipped with tools and learn how to apply them to your everyday circumstances. My hope is for everyone to learn the 7 foundational tools for emotional stability, and then start building your toolbox for what you need.
splankna therapy
Splankna is a mind-body psychology tool to help release emotions from trauma events that are stored in the body. It incorporates EMDR and tapping along with muscle testing to identify and work through these events in a safe way, and it is all blanketed in prayer. It’s a beautiful tool God has given for healing traumas without being re-traumatized.
I look for adventure and inspiration outdoors in nature by studying and painting animals and landscapes. I love to be expressive with mark making, and use mixed media with lots of texture. I like to live with the painting for a while and let it guide me while teaching me about the healing process. The beginning is exciting, filled of loads of potential, the messy middle is tough and feels like it will never become what I hoped it to be. But with diligence and focus the finishing strokes take their place and I find myself with gratitude that I stayed with it. Then the longing to sit in relfect on all we’ve been through together. Mixed emotions set in, sad that its finished and time to move on but a smile on my face to have finished it at all. Time to start on what’s next
